IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU..TH

Fifteen young people from the Isle of Man took part in a five-day residential exchange with Jersey Youth Service from 21st to 25th July 2025. The trip was part of the Young Workforce Programme and aimed to build connections, confidence, and cultural understanding between the two island communities.
Programme Highlights

Outdoor Adventure: Coasteering along Jersey’s coastline and beach sports at St. Ouen’s Bay.
Cultural Visits: Guided tours of St. Helier, Elizabeth Castle, and the Jersey War Tunnels.
Environmental Learning: A visit to Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and group discussions on conservation.
Youth Exchange: Workshops with Jersey young people on island life, education, and career pathways.
Evening Activities: Barbecue, quiz night, campfire reflections, and a farewell dinner with music.

Impact

Young people developed leadership, resilience, and teamwork.
Staff from both islands shared practice and built professional links.
The exchange laid the foundation for future collaboration, including return visits, joint training, and shared youth work projects.

Next Steps
Plans are underway for a return exchange to the Isle of Man and joint staff development opportunities. The partnership continues to grow, with both services exploring international youth work and training through Erasmus+ and other networks.
